| Green Eyes in the Amazon Probes
the Nexus of
Science, Religion, & Politics Explore the age-old battle between religion and science in P. J. Fischer’s thrilling Green Eyes in the Amazon. Combining relentless energy and daring introspection, the novel continues the ambitious saga begun in Julia and the Dream Maker. Scientist Steven Sumpter’s world is changing with frightening speed. The government no longer wants to lock up the biologist—instead, it demands that he use his genius to stop a rogue supercomputer before it self-destructs and leaves the nation defenseless. Bennie, the scientist’s best friend, has accidently set deadly enemies on Sumpter’s trail and girlfriend Eli has just delivered what is the first member of an entirely new species of human, a cyber being. Not even in the deepest reaches of the Amazon jungle can Steven and his friends hide from their destiny. They face constant peril and experience unexpected wonder that transforms their lives in ways none of them could have foreseen. Green Eyes in the Amazon combines tough questions with a thrilling read:

THIRTY
SECONDS WITH AUTHOR P. J. FISCHER
P. J. FISCHER grew up in Salem, Oregon, and holds a doctorate from the University of Oregon. Fischer’s fascination with the potential of biochemistry and cybernetics is evident in his novels, Julia and the Dream Maker and Green Eyes in the Amazon, in which he explores the inevitable impact of science on our lives. What did you enjoy reading recently? The River of Doubt by Candice Millard is a true story in which an ill-prepared Theodore Roosevelt explores the Amazon and barely escapes with his life. Will there be another book involving Julia? It's in development. I can't give you an exact publication date, but I can tell you that human beings are not going to have an easy time living with Julia. Are you working on any other novels? Of course, yes. I hope you’ll enjoy them. |
